Customized Supports

This is an image of a senior gentleman speaking at a microphone in front of the rest of the seniors at the day program.

ACHIEVA’s Customized Day Supports are designed to support a diverse group of individuals with disabilities. Each program is completely individualized, flexible, and tailored to fit specific participant needs. Each component is geared toward assisting participants in attaining his or her personal outcomes. This is accomplished through a number of activities including functional academics; art, music and drama therapy; exercise; community outings, both for leisure and education; guest speakers; volunteer and other vocational opportunities.

Adult Training Facility

Participants learn about themselves and the world around them through structured and enriching activities. Skill training is available in a variety of areas and participants decide what to concentrate on and what goals to work toward.  Vocational opportunities are offered through contract work, community based employment, and volunteering. Most individuals in the Adult Training Facility are supported at a 1:6 level of staffing, although sometimes more intensive support is required.

Specialized Supports

In this employment-centered program, participants enjoy a smaller staffing ratio while honing vocational activities as well as alternative forms of recreation and leisure. Most individuals spend the majority of their time in the workshop or working in the community while being supported by program staff. The level of staff support varies from 1:1 to 1:3.

Senior Program

The Senior Program is designed for older adults who no longer prosper in a traditional vocational setting, but are looking for constructive and enriching ways to spend their days. Opportunities are available for social interaction with peers in a safe and relaxed environment. The staff provides therapeutic supports in line with each individual’s desires and abilities. Individuals are supported at a 1:6 level.

Services provided in each program are available to every participant, which allows for the ultimate in flexibility.  Assistance is available for participants in all programs in the areas of medication administration, meal preparation, and personal hygiene.
