PA's New Funding System: How is it Going to Work for All Kids?

The 2008-2009 state budget adopted in July 2008 was a real win for Pennsylvania's students. Driven by a costing out study showing state shortfalls in funding, a new school funding formula was placed into law - the first funding formula for basic education funding since the 1991-1992 shcool year. Learn what the new funding formula did to help students' achievement and how it may have shortchanged students with disabilities. The budget bill also addressed a variety of topics-graduation competency assessments, ant-bullying policies and even "twins!" Learn why the disability community faces the challenge of securing additional resources for students in the coming year.
