ACHIEVA holds several annual special events throughout the year including four fundraising events and an Annual Awards Event.  ACHIEVA is also proud to be a participant in a number of other fundraising events throughout the region each year.

The 12th Annual ACHIEVA Golf Outing

August 23, 2010

Valley Brook Country Club

On Monday, August 23, 2010, the 12th Annual ACHIEVA Million Dollar Golf Outing will be held at Valley Brook Golf Club. Last year, ACHIEVA’s golf outing raised more than $89,000 through the efforts of our many supporters. Monies raised at this tournament help provide services to more than 10,000 individuals and their families with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

ACHIEVA's Annual Awards of Excellence Event

Each year, ACHIEVA honors those individuals and organizations in the region whose work or volunteer efforts have made a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.  Awards are presented in the names of strong long time leaders including the Sattler Humanitarian Award, the Joe Ott Award and the Tony Leech Award.  Honorees exemplify ACHIEVA's vision of full inclusion in community life for people with disabilities and may be individuals, families, public servants, or organizations.

ACHIEVA's Pittsburgh Promenade Auction

March 26, 2011

Westin Convention Center

More than 375 guests attended ACHIEVA’s annual Pittsburgh Promenade auction on April 10th at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in Pittsburgh.
 
Tonia Caruso of WQED on Q was the Mistress of Ceremonies with music by Finesse of Big Day Entertainment.  Beautiful Hydrangeas were provided by The Drew Mathieson Center for Horticultural and Agricultural Technology. A testimonial was provided by Erin Gannon and Marisa Niwa.
 
Guests dined on Apple Bleu Cheese Salad, Vodka Marinated Filet Mignon paired with Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut, Sweet Potatoes with Sugared Pecans, Asparagus with Roasted Red Pepper Garnish and Charlotte Triple Chocolate Mousse with Chocolate Sauce and Fresh Berries.
 
Auctioneer Fred Peters created some very lively bidding in the live auction that included trips to Las Vegas, Kissimmee, Florida, Siesta Keys, Florida, Autographed Sidney Crosby Jersey, Air Tran tickets, and several pieces of fine jewelry to name a few.
 
Guests also had an opportunity to bid on great gift baskets and items in the silent auction as well as buy tickets for the $10,000 drawn that evening.
 
Through the support and generosity of our guests, more than $122,000 was raised to provide services for our consumers.
 
Mark your calendar for next year’s auction which will take place on Saturday, March 26th at the Westin Convention Center Hotel.

Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield

ACHIEVA had another successful Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield that was recently held on Saturday, May 22nd.  104 walkers raised approximately $7,500.

ACHIEVA has been a participant in the Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Blue Cross/Blue Shield since its inception, raising more than $67,500 to benefit the individuals and families that ACHIEVA supports.  For information on the May 2011 walk, please contact Cathy Downs at cdowns@achieva.info or at 412.995.5000 x460.

 

 

Longaberger Basket/Jewelry Bingo Bash

Join The Arc of Westmoreland and ACHIEVA for the Longaberger Basket/Jewelry Bingo Bash to be held on Friday, June 25th at the Marian Hall located in Crabtree, PA.
