Preschool Readiness

Our Preschool Readiness Program prepares two and three year-olds with cognitive delays for the transition to preschool. Thanks to a generous gift from the Carl M. Ludwig Family, parents or caregivers receive support and training through group work and interactive educational experiences that reinforce a child’s work. The Carl Ludwig Children’s Therapy Room was dedicated in June 2006.

The Preschool Readiness Program is offered at multiple locations throughout Allegheny County. Children that are at least two years old, with a 33 percent cognitive delay or a diagnosis that is known to lead to a cognitive delay such as Down syndrome, are invited to apply.

Several children have successfully graduated from the initial preschool readiness program.
