Systems Advocacy

The Arc of Greater Pittsburgh identifies systemic issues and works with key federal, state and local officials toward their resolution. Arc staff, Trustees, community leaders, concerned citizens, and self advocates participate in:

  • State and Local task forces on the Right to Education
  • Local and State Interagency Coordinating Councils
  • The Office of Mental Retardation, Planning Advisory Committee
  • The Pennsylvania Waiting List Campaign initiatives
  • Rallies and public awareness campaigns
