Vocational Support

This is an image of an adult gentleman with his cleaning cart at his place of employment.

ACHIEVA’s Vocational Supports programs are outcomes based and tailored to the individual needs and specific goals of its customers. Operating in five counties in Western Pennsylvania, ACHIEVA’s Vocational Supports programs are dedicated to providing the best in vocational support to adults and seniors with intellectual disabilities.

Areas include:

Supported Employment: ACHIEVA provides training and support for adults with disabilities who wish to work in the community. Many businesses in the community provide exciting employment opportunities and ACHIEVA continually strives to identify new opportunities.

Facility-based Employment: Facility-based workers participate in a variety of training programs and contract assembly work in ACHIEVA’s various entrepreneurial business operations.  Workers are trained in the skills necessary to safely use tools needed to perform their work. They are paid either minimum wage or the current prevailing wage rates based on hourly or “by piece” rate. Behavioral specialists and trainers develop worker’s job readiness, socialization, and anti-victimization skills to prepare them for future jobs in the community. Facility-based job opportunities are available through our Vocational Supports program.

Customized Day Programs:  ACHIEVA is excited to offer several options for adults and seniors with intellectual disabilities through its customized day programs. The programs are created with an individual’s personal goals and outcomes in mind. Activities include music class, cooking lessons, art, theater, and daily living skills.
