PITTSBURGH, PA - People looking to #ImpactACHIEVA can do so today during an online Day of Giving, October 23, 2018. A generous donor, Ronald Chiurazzi, has offered to match every dollar for dollar up to a total of $10,000. His gift is in honor of his late wife Patricia and son Ronnie.
All donations will support the Blanco Family Fund for Advocacy and Family Supports, established by ACHIEVA’s Board in honor of Marsha Blanco, ACHIEVA’s recently retired President and CEO of nearly 39 years. This fund will enable ACHIEVA to generate resources over time to help support the organization’s advocacy and family supports, and help countless people well into the future. Anyone who gives online at ACHIEVA Day of Giving between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on October 23 will have their donation matched. A prorated matching donation will be made once the campaign generates $10,000.
Without donations, the advocacy program would cease to exist; families like Amber and her son Travis would be left to struggle without the support of someone on their side. "Amber and her son are involved in multiple systems. It is a lot for anyone to navigate," said Julie Trbovich, Director of Advocacy at ACHIEVA/The Arc of Greater Pittsburgh. "She is an absolute wonderful parent, and just so dedicated, but it has been a rough road for her. I'm grateful to be in this position where I can assist Amber and be there for her so in turn she can be the best mom she can be for Travis."
