Enhancing Lives.Pittsburgh, PA (January 25, 2023) - The Achieva Family Trust is celebrating its 25th Anniversary of serving as corporate trustee for special needs trusts for people with disabilities. A member of the Achieva Family of Organizations, Achieva Family Trust was established in 1998 to address parents’ wishes to protect their children’s futures. Achieva Family Trust is one of Pennsylvania’s largest, most respected corporate fiduciaries for special needs trusts, serving more than 2,500 trust beneficiaries with over $200 million in assets under management. To date, it has granted over $10 million in supplemental supports and services through the Charitable Residual Account.

Amy Dolan Strano, Achieva Family Trust President and Senior Vice President of Achieva, said, “We believe everyone should have an equal opportunity to have a better quality of life. That’s why Achieva Family Trust is committed to serving people with any type of disability.” From people with disabilities and their families to the professionals who support them, Achieva Family Trust is a respected resource for both expert social service support and professional trust management. Their professional Trust Administrators average 20 years of experience with social service and government benefits, while their management includes the legal expertise of four attorneys on staff.

Special needs trusts allow people with disabilities to protect their assets while remaining eligible for Medicaid health care, Home and Community-Based Services funded by Medicaid, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) - all critically important to help people with disabilities live self-determined lives in the community and avoid having to live in institutions. Achieva Family Trust offers three types of special needs trusts: Pooled TrustsPayback Trusts, and Third-Party Trusts. Each allows for the preservation of funds so that necessities - like home modifications, adapted vehicles, and specialized treatments or medications can be paid for while preserving eligibility for lifelong supports and services.
