Allegheny County has created a Whole-Home Repairs Program which began taking applications on May 30th, 2023. The program, administered by ACTION-Housing, has $12 million dollars available for grants for eligible Allegheny County homeowners. The grant can be utilized for home repairs involving “significant” habitability including damage to roofs, windows, foundations, and other issues that could force relocation. In addition, the grants can be used for disability-related modifications that allow disabled residents to remain in their homes. Up to $50,000 per grant is available. Since the program has limits on funding, applicants will be prioritized based upon the worst damage. It is projected that due to eligibility requirements, including income, and limits to funding, many applicants who are eligible may not be selected for the grants.  Applications will be accepted through Friday June 30, 2023.

If you apply to the Whole-Home Repairs Program based upon accessibility issues related to a disability and are not selected to receive funding from the program or you receive some funding from the program, but not everything you need to complete your disability-related project, Achieva Family Trust’s Charitable Residual Program may be able to help.
