Achieva Partners with the Shapiro Administration to Advance Employment for People with Disabilities, Meet Workforce Needs

Achieva proudly announces its role in the new Integrated Vocational Engagement & Support Team (InVEST) program, launched in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (L&I). This initiative helps Pennsylvanians with disabilities transition from subminimum wage positions to competitive-integrated employment (CIE). InVEST eliminates barriers for those in sheltered workshops, empowering participants to earn competitive wages and fully integrate into their communities.

Through InVEST, Achieva partners with businesses to meet workforce needs by supporting qualified candidates with disabilities and offering assistance with tax credits, ADA compliance, and talent retention. “Achieva knows people with disabilities are an important but untapped part of Pennsylvania’s workforce,” said Steve Suroviec, President and CEO.

As part of the program, Achieva provides tailored support, including training, direct services, and wraparound resources like transportation and wellness support. This collaboration with L&I reflects Achieva’s commitment to the Employment First philosophy, which prioritizes competitive-integrated employment as the preferred outcome for people with disabilities. Both participants and business partners benefit, building a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
