Pennsylvania’s guardianship laws have changed. What do these changes mean for people with disabilities, their families, and the courts?

Join us for an informative webinar on Act 61 and recent changes to guardianship laws in Pennsylvania. We’ll explore how the new requirements are being implemented in the courts, what families and individuals should know, and how these changes may affect guardianship proceedings.

The session will also examine less restrictive alternatives to guardianship, including supported decision-making and other options that can help people with disabilities maintain greater control over their lives and decisions.

Featured Speaker: Robert M. Lodge

Robert M. Lodge is a Staff Attorney at Disability Rights Pennsylvania, where he represents individuals with disabilities in matters involving guardianship and supported decision-making. He earned his LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and his J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law School.

Before joining Disability Rights Pennsylvania, Robert served as an Assistant Public Defender, ultimately becoming Chief of Diversionary and Re-Entry Programs, where he oversaw initiatives including Mental Health Treatment Court and other specialty court programs. Throughout his career, Robert has been dedicated to representing individuals with mental health conditions and other disabilities, advocating for their rights and access to justice within the legal system.
