Beaver County residents with disabilities will soon have more service options

PITTSBURGH, PA - ACHIEVA, a non-profit that provides supports to people with disabilities, is pleased to announce the addition of services to Beaver, Pennsylvania. In addition to continuing provision of advocacy and family supports, as well as recreational, day and overnight activities for people with disabilities in Beaver County, Employment and Home & Community Supports will be offered effective July 1, 2019.

Steve Suroviec, ACHIEVA’s President and CEO, remarked, “It is with great enthusiasm that we announce ACHIEVA’s expansion of quality services and supports to residents of Beaver County.  The addition will benefit people with disabilities seeking in-home care that supports one’s health and safety as well as competitive employment opportunities via community businesses”.
Two primary categories make up the services offered through Employment Supports: Community Employment and Community Participation. Community Employment provides employment training and opportunities for people with disabilities while matching skills and interests to community partners.  The Community Participation service is designed to integrate people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) into the greater community along with people without disabilities. Through relationships with local organizations, we provide volunteer experiences, community engagement and informal educational opportunities.

Home and Community Supports provides options for varying levels of independence. ACHIEVA Home Care provides in-home and community support for people of any age with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Our goals and supports are designed to build independence and ensure health and safety. Caregiver supports can be provided for a few hours daily, weekly, monthly or on a 24 hour basis that is dependent on an individual's needs. Achieve the dream of living independently in the community. ACHIEVA’s A Home of My Own provides the supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live safely in a home they choose.
